The San Sebastina International Film Festival at Tabakalera
Tabakalera collaborates with the
55th San Sebastian International Film Festival with several activities that with take place in the building during these ten days.
On
Saturday 22nd, there will be the presentation of the thematic retrospective “
Cold Fever – the new Nordic cinema”, sponsored by
Tabakalera. This cycle is dedicated to cinema made in the Nordic countries since 1995, specially linked with the
Dogma movement. During the Festival, 38 films made in 5 different countries will be shown.
The cycle will be presented by
Joxean Muñoz, general director of
Tabakalera, and
Marianne Slot, representative of the Festival in Scandinavia, and it will be attended by ten of the directors who take part in this cycle, by Erik Bo Nielsen, director of the Danish Film Institut, and by Mikel Olaciregui, director of the San Sebastian Film Festival.
The
party of this cycle, will also take place at the
Tabakalera building on
Thursday 27th. Among the guests there will be some of the members of the different films screened in the cycle, and specially, one of the
Donostia award of this year,
Liv Ullman.
On
Wednesday 26th PANAVISION, with the collaboration of
Tabakalera, has organized a live shoot workshop and a discussion titled “
Tomorrow: a new eye for our cinema”. The event is part of the
VI International Film School Meeting programme, within the
San Sebastian International Film Festival. The Lighting workshop will take place in
Tabakalera and there will be a live shoot workshop dedicated to digital filming and a discussion will take place among the Brazilian director of photography
Affonso Beato, the Mexican filmmaker
Alfonso Cuaron and the correspondent for the American Cinematographer magazine
Benjamin B.
