rincón de la tecnología - biblioteca

The Technology Corner is a space for approaching digital culture and the new technologies. This service provides an opportunity to get immersed in robotics, electronics, free software and hardware, the relationship between technology and pedagogy, 3D printing and much, much more.

We designed the technology stations from industrial scaffolding, modifying them until converting them into another tool for library users. They are autonomous, specialising in different technologies, but together they create a framework.

Around the stations we were able to find a piece of graffiti, a sound-interactive work designed over 400 murals, which helped contextualise this technological laboratory space in Ubik.

DIY digital manufacturing

Do It Yourself Station // Digital Manufacturing

This is a DIY station designed for starting in the field of digital production from modelling and 3D printing. Equipped with: A Raspberry Pi computer, a Prusa i3 printer, a box of tools and various printing materials.

creative programming station minilab

<Hello world> Station // Programming

On this scaffolding, we will be able to see example of programs and video games with their source code and, in the different workshops, we will learn the basic principles of programming, from simple visual programs and mobile apps to robots controlled by mobile phones. Equipped with: A Raspberry Pi computer and various electronic boards to facilitate interaction.

creative electronics minilab

Tokitronika Station // Creative electronics

On this scaffolding, we will discover fun electronic applications, by means of simple circuits that we will make. In the workshops. we will learn the basic principles of programming and electronics with Arduino and play with wire, ink and various conductive materials. Equipped with: A computer with Linux, a Cyclone CNC machine (mini milling machine), a tool box, a mini soldering station, a power supply for the laboratory, various materials to be milled (copper, methacrylates and wood), and various electronic components.

a mural done with conductive ink

Touch Graffiti // A mural done with conductive ink

Graffiti done over 400 murals during the opening weekend of Ubik, using conductive ink. Conductive ink works the same as any other water-based paint, except that it conducts electricity. In this way, we were able to interact with the mural and the digital elements available in this space.
